We want to hear from you!
It was great to meet everyone who came to our community event in Peaslake in April. We enjoyed the opportunity to tell you about who we are and how we work. We’re now talking to a number of residents to find out the areas with the most interest.
If you were unable to attend, we are a not-for-profit community internet service provider, bringing reliable, hyperfast (1000Mbps) fibre broadband, exclusively to the Surrey Hills. We were started by people living in and around the Surrey Hills who wanted better broadband.
How we work: we are powered by the community!
Alongside paid members of the team, local volunteers assist us with planning the network, the physical dig, house installations and much more!
We have taken our service to many local businesses and residents, who can rely on us to deliver a fast, dependable connection. We supply service to places like Silent Pool Distillers, Albury Parish Council and give free service to Wonersh and Shamley Green C of E School and Albury Parish Church, plus many more. We supply many local homeowners who can now command higher asking prices for their homes, where buyers want properties to come with a good broadband connection.
The government recognises the importance of better broadband connectivity and therefore provides us with grants, through the Gigabit Voucher scheme, which we receive once your connection has been made. We can apply for a Gigabit Voucher for both residential and business customers.
Since the meeting we have had a lot of interest from residents of Peaslake in:
- Wonham Way, GU5 9PA
- Crest Hill, GU5 9PE
- Westfield, RH5 6RS
- Mackies Hill, GU5 9RH
- Peaslake Lane East, GU5 9SY
- Walking Bottom GU5 9RR
- Pond Lane, GU5 9RS
- Peaslake Lane West, GU5 9RJ
If you want your road to be added to the list, get in touch.
The way we’ll roll out service is that we will start where there is the most interest! After that, we’ll take service to the next adjacent area with the highest level of interest, and so on! We want to work with community champions who can act as lead co-ordinators between us and yourselves. If you are interested in becoming a community champion, please get in touch. We’ll be hosting more community events where you can come and find out more.
We are keen to bring our service to Peaslake and are keen to hear from you, whether you’d like service or are interested in volunteering, or both! If you haven’t yet been in touch, you can fill out an expression of interest form on the website, you can email enquiries@b4sh.org.uk or call (01483) 347437. Getting in touch will in no way commit you to taking service with us.
We look forward to hearing from you.
